چکیده

Optimized phase pulses, which maximizes the minimum Euclidean distance in spectrally constrained partial response CPM for di erent pulse lengths and di erent alphabet sizes, are numerically found. The channel is an AWGN channel constrained by a narrow spectrum mask, which puts hard requirements on both the width of the spectral main lobe and the size of the spectral side lobes. The phase pulse is parameterized by equidistant sample points connected by cubic spline interpolation and the modulation index is also treated as a free parameter. It is found that the optimized phase pulses are smooth pulses and in many cases similar to the GMSK phase pulse family. A gain of up to 0.9 dB is obtained for the optimized phase pulses compared to the GMSK phase pulses and a useful property for reduced complexity detection is found for some phase pulses.

Maximizing Minimum Euclidean Distance of Spectrally Constrained Partial Response CPM

Optimized phase pulses, which maximizes the minimum Euclidean distance of spectrally constrained partial response CPM with different pulse lengths and different alphabet sizes, are numerically found. On Convolutionally Encoded Partial Response CPM

| Convolutionally encoded partial response CPM is studied for an AWGN channel constrained by a narrow spectrum mask which puts hard requirements on both the width of the spectral main lobe and the size of the spectral side lobes. A family of uncoded partial response CPM schemes of diierent complexity based on the GMSK phase pulse are obtained. The schemes with best minimum Euclidean distance ar...

On the Performance of Spectrally Efficient Cpm-ofdma for Aeronautical Telemetry

In this paper, we discuss CPM-OFDMA (Continuous Phase Modulation Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) a novel modulation that maps a discrete-time CPM into a spectrally efficient DFTspread OFDMA transmission. Three CPM-OFDMA schemes are developed based on discrete-time variants of PCM/FM, SOQPSK-TG and ARTM-CPM telemetry modulations. Simulations reveal that spectrally efficient CPM-OF...

Empirical Model for Spectrally Efficient Continuous Phase Modulation

The continuous phase property of Continuous Phase Modulation (CPM) makes it possible to define spectrally efficient digital modulation schemes with a narrow spectral main lobe and small spectral side lobes by using a small modulation index, a non-binary alphabet size and a smooth phase pulse [1]. The constant envelope property of CPM also allows the use of non-linear amplifiers, which have lowe...
